Larian Studios announced on Steam that a stress test for Baldur's Gate 3 Patch 8 will begin in January. This test will be available on PC via Steam, and on Xbox and PlayStation consoles. Mac and GOG users will not have access to this test build. Registration for the stress test is currently open.
Larian plans to thoroughly test Patch 8 for bugs and gameplay issues before its official release. They're particularly focused on cross-play functionality, noting the complexity of implementing it in a game of Baldur's Gate 3's scale and encouraging players to participate in testing this feature. Players are encouraged to invite friends or find groups via the Larian Studios Discord server to test cross-play.
While Patch 8 marks the final major update for Baldur's Gate 3, Larian confirmed continued support for modders, promising significant future updates to enhance modding capabilities and allow for more player-created content. Since the release of official modding tools in September, players have downloaded over 70 million modules and uploaded over 3,000 mods.
