Classic Fire Emblem Hits Nintendo Switch Online

By AudreyNov 18,2025

Exciting News! Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones has officially joined the Nintendo Switch Online game library.

First launched on Game Boy Advance in 2004 (2005 for Western markets), The Sacred Stones follows the story of royal twins Eirika and Ephraim as they battle to reclaim Renais' throne while unraveling the mystery behind their trusted ally's betrayal.

This release gives many players their first chance to experience this classic - not only is it celebrating its 20th anniversary, but it remains significant as only the second Fire Emblem title localized internationally and the franchise's final GBA installment.

We awarded it an 8.5/10 in our 2005 review, praising it as:
"Fire Emblem: The Sacred Stones delivers what Advance Wars 2 did for its franchise - maintaining the excellent tactical gameplay established by the 2003 GBA Fire Emblem while introducing a completely fresh narrative experience."
