321Fit is a fresh fitness app from Matthew Burton, creator of Bearplane.
It features retro-styled workout visuals and core fitness tools.
Design your own routine or choose from pre-made options.
With 2026 just ahead, many of us are reflecting on our New Year goals—whether it’s quitting smoking or drinking, picking up a new language, or the classic aim of getting in shape. If you’re looking for support, 321Fit by Matthew Burton could be the perfect companion.
Now available on iOS and Android, 321Fit brings a retro-inspired twist to fitness tracking. Simplified to the essentials, it lets you build custom workouts or select from ready-made plans—all accompanied by nostalgic stick-figure graphics that help you monitor your progress and timing.
Beyond its aesthetic, 321Fit delivers everything you’d expect from a fitness app: personalized planning, logging your stats and goals, or replacing more flashy, power-hungry apps with a streamlined alternative.

While the developers call it Pip-Boy inspired, that comparison feels a bit forced to me. Still, we’ve perhaps reached a point where “Atari-inspired” barely registers anymore. But from Matthew Burton—the mind behind Bearplane—321Fit is an oddball release that’s surprisingly welcome.
Given my own 2026 goal of boosting my physical well-being (sitting at a desk all day doesn’t do wonders for the body), I’m seriously considering giving this app a try. I’ll even overlook the nod to the latest Fallout season.
And if you’re leaning into the darker side of New Year starts, we’ve got you covered too. Why not explore our mobile review of Cult of the Lamb—the charming yet grim indie sim about running your very own cult?
