It's not just Gabe Newell who's known for his email responses, but sometimes the news isn't what fans hope to hear. A Reddit user recently shared their experience after reaching out to Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney with a straightforward question about the release date of Alan Wake 2 on Steam. Unfortunately, Sweeney's response was brief and definitive: Alan Wake 2 would not be coming to Steam. With no further explanation provided, the disappointed user mentioned they would opt for purchasing the game on Xbox instead.

What makes Alan Wake 2 unique among Epic Games Store exclusives is that Epic Games not only published this horror title but also co-financed its development in partnership with Remedy. Despite this, Remedy reported that the sales of Alan Wake 2 met their business expectations, and they were pleased with the collaboration. Looking ahead, Remedy plans to self-publish future titles, which means fans can expect these games to be available on platforms like Steam. However, more than a year after its release, Alan Wake 2 has yet to turn a profit.
