Star Wars Actor Champions Battlefront 3 Revival

By OliverJul 04,2026

Renewed calls for a new Star Wars Battlefront game have gained momentum thanks to an actor from the acclaimed TV series, Andor.

Over the past month, fans have returned in droves to 2017's Star Wars Battlefront 2, resulting in the game's highest Steam player count in years. This resurgence comes despite developer DICE ending support long ago.

Now, Muhannad Ben Amor, who played the heroic Wilmon Paak on Andor, has taken to social media to support the campaign for a fully-fledged sequel.

"Star Wars needs to give us Battlefront 3 ASAP," Amor posted on Instagram (via Comicbook), revealing he has logged 469 hours in Battlefront 2. A solid effort, but don't let it go to your head.

"I grew up with Battlefront 2 — a veteran from day one," Amor continued. "Here's hoping Battlefront 3 becomes a reality."

Interest in Star Wars Battlefront 2 has surged recently. This is partly due to the success of Andor's climactic second season and other Star Wars events tied to the franchise's annual May 4th celebrations.

After years of maintaining an average of around 2,000 concurrent players on Steam, the game's popularity has climbed steadily over recent weeks. It is now approaching its all-time Steam peak of 10,000 concurrent players.

But does this renewed interest make Star Wars Battlefront 3 more likely? Currently, DICE is focused entirely on developing its next major Battlefield title, aiming for a strong launch. A full reveal for the still-untitled game, which is undergoing player testing, is expected this summer.

DICE may also remain hesitant to revisit the franchise. Battlefront 2's initial launch was mired in major controversy over its loot box system. Over time, however, public perception of the game has improved. While publisher EA, DICE's parent company, no longer holds the exclusive Star Wars license, Respawn Entertainment continues to develop games in the galaxy far, far away, including a third Star Wars Jedi title.

"Star Wars Battlefront 2's redemption arc rivals the Skywalker saga," IGN noted in its 2019 re-review. "Overall, it's now an excellent package that stands as one of the most thrilling and authentic ways to experience Star Wars in video game form."
