Bethesda is letting players pay to become an NPC in The Elder Scrolls VI

By GeorgeFeb 28,2025

Bethesda Softworks is offering a unique opportunity: a chance to become immortalized in The Elder Scrolls VI. A Make-A-Wish Mid-Atlantic charity auction allows a high bidder to collaborate with Bethesda's developers to design a non-player character (NPC) for the highly anticipated game.

This isn't simply about aesthetics; the winner will actively participate in crafting the NPC's backstory, personality, and potential impact on the game's lore. From a humble scholar to a powerful warrior, the creative possibilities are vast. The winner might even see a digital representation of themselves integrated into Tamriel.

The current highest bid is $11,050, but with the auction ongoing, this figure is expected to increase significantly. Bethesda remains discreet about The Elder Scrolls VI's release date, adding to the anticipation surrounding the winner's creation.

Should the winner choose to immortalize themselves, they'll join Shirley Curry ("Skyrim Grandma") as one of the few real-world individuals represented in the Elder Scrolls universe.

While an official release date is absent, a 2026 release for The Elder Scrolls VI is anticipated. When it launches, one lucky fan's contribution will be a permanent fixture in the game's world.
