Borderlands 4 Unveils Expanded Content and Fresh Trailer
A Next-Level Endgame Experience

Gearbox Software continues revealing Borderlands 4's mechanics and lore ahead of launch, with Creative Director Graeme Timmins emphasizing groundbreaking endgame ambitions. During a July 7 Game Informer interview, Timmins—who shaped Borderlands 3's post-game—shared how the team synthesized lessons from previous titles to create their most polished endgame yet.
"We've been designing Borderlands 4's endgame from day one," Timmins explained. "Drawing from Wonderlands and the core series, we're confident this will be the franchise's strongest endgame iteration—though we're saving specifics for later reveals."
Community Enthusiasm Sparks Early Skill Planning
Even months before release, dedicated fans collaborated with Maxroll.gg to create skill planners for Vault Hunters Vex and Rafa. Twitter user Byrd showcased this fan project on July 7, prompting Timmins to clarify that skill trees remain fluid during development: "This tool is fantastic! Just remember—we're still balancing everything. Demo builds may differ significantly at launch."
"Welcome to Kairos" Trailer Expands Universe Lore
The second "BEYOND THE BORDERLANDS" video (July 8) immerses players in Kairos—a prison planet ruled by the despotic Time Keeper. This seven-minute narrative deep dive introduces rebel factions like The Outbounders and The Electi, each with unique motivations for joining the Crimson Resistance against tyranny.

Narrative leads Lin Joyce and Sam Winkler detailed their villain-crafting philosophy: "The Time Keeper represents a fresh archetype—omnipresent yet surgically utilized," Winkler noted. Joyce emphasized the game's dual appeal: "This installment honors series veterans while creating the perfect jumping-on point, weaving past connections with thrilling new directions."
With seamless world traversal and refined weapon systems complementing its September 12, 2025 launch, Borderlands 4 aims to redefine the looter-shooter genre across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Nintendo Switch 2, and PC platforms.
