Gearbox has officially confirmed the release date for Borderlands 4.
At the recent State of Play, Gearbox president Randy Pitchford announced that Borderlands 4 will launch on September 23, 2025. To mark the occasion, Gearbox unveiled a new trailer showcasing exciting gameplay additions.
A standout feature in the trailer is the new grappling hook, adding a fresh dimension to traversal. However, fans can rest assured that the signature blend of over-the-top weaponry, explosive action, and chaotic mayhem remains a core element of the *Borderlands* experience.Further celebrating the release date announcement, Gearbox revealed a dedicated Borderlands 4 State of Play presentation scheduled for this spring. This special showcase promises an in-depth look at new gameplay mechanics and, of course, a plethora of new weaponry.
While narrative details for Borderlands 4 remain scarce, the lead writer hinted at a potential shift away from the previous game's reliance on "toilet humor." Whether this translates to a more mature tone remains to be seen.
