By securing the Dino Crisis trademark, Capcom could be setting the stage for exciting future projects, possibly including a much-anticipated remake of the iconic dinosaur survival horror series. Dino Crisis, originally crafted by Shinji Mikami, the genius behind Resident Evil, first hit the shelves in 1999 on the PlayStation 1. The series went on to produce two sequels, but after the release of the third game in 2003, it mysteriously went silent, leaving fans yearning for more.

These speculations are not without foundation. Last year, Capcom publicly expressed its intention to "revitalize older franchises that haven’t seen new releases in recent years." This statement followed closely on the heels of announcements for an Okami sequel and Onimusha: Way of the Sword. Furthermore, in a fan-driven poll conducted by Capcom during the summer of 2024, Dino Crisis topped the charts in the "most desired continuation" category, significantly boosting the hopes of its loyal fanbase for a revival.
