By SadieFeb 18,2025

Leaked 2005 James Bond audition tapes surface online, showcasing Henry Cavill's impressive performance. A YouTube channel, Ron South, belonging to a filmmaker, recently uploaded several audition tapes from the 2005 casting process. These tapes feature not only Henry Cavill, but also Sam Worthington, Rupert Friend, and Anthony Starr vying for the iconic role of 007.

According to Games Radar, Cavill's audition has garnered significant attention over the years. Many, including Casino Royale director Martin Campbell, believe Cavill would have been a superb James Bond, with Campbell reportedly describing Cavill's audition as "tremendous." While Campbell favored Cavill, ultimately, other decision-makers selected Daniel Craig for the part.

Cavill later fulfilled his spy aspirations in the film Argylle, where he played the lead alongside a star-studded cast including Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Rockwell, Bryan Cranston, and Catherine O’Hara. Despite the impressive ensemble, Argylle received less-than-stellar reviews, scoring a mere 4/10 from IGN.

Cavill's career continues to thrive, encompassing iconic roles such as Superman for DC, Geralt of Rivia in Netflix's The Witcher, and numerous other diverse projects.
