Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 has soared past the million-copy sales mark, as announced by publisher Kepler Interactive. This debut RPG from developer Sandfall Interactive initially impressed by selling 500,000 copies within just 24 hours of its release, and it has now doubled that figure.
"And here we are. Three days after launch. One million copies sold. Thank you for believing in Clair Obscur: Expedition 33," the studio said on social media over the weekend.
The game's success extends beyond sales, as it also achieved a significant milestone in player engagement. According to SteamDB, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 reached a concurrent peak of 121,422 players on Steam over the weekend. This figure surpasses the concurrent peak of any other game from the renowned RPG developer Atlus, including Metaphor: ReFantazio, which launched in October 2024 and peaked at 85,961 players.It's important to note that these concurrent records do not reflect the full player base, as Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 is available on multiple platforms including PS5, PC, and Xbox Series X and S. Additionally, it was a day-one release on the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription, suggesting that the actual number of players engaging with the game over the weekend is likely much higher, indicating its current popularity.

Developed by the newly formed studio Sandfall Interactive, this turn-based RPG draws heavily from genre classics.
