Defeating Yetuga in The First Berserker: Khazan - Strategies Revealed

By AudreyApr 26,2025

Stepping into the challenging world of *The First Berserker: Khazan*, players are met with the formidable Yetuga as their first boss encounter. This battle at the end of the Mount Heinmach level tests your mastery of the game's combat mechanics. Yetuga is an aggressive adversary, relentlessly attacking when its territory is threatened. As with other massive beasts in the game, it wields both short and long-range attacks, including a leaping slam.

To triumph over Yetuga, you'll need to hone your dodging and parrying skills, crucial for minimizing damage. Yetuga's arsenal includes:

  • A two-hit combo beginning with a left-handed downward smash followed by a right-handed uppercut
  • A four-hit combo featuring horizontal swipes with either arm
  • A powerful downward smash using both arms
  • A leaping single-handed smash
  • A jumping grab
  • A charging attack

Throughout the fight, you'll learn to recognize Yetuga's attack patterns and find opportunities to strike back. Parrying, except for the jumping grab, not only helps you avoid damage but also inflicts significant Stamina damage on the boss. Leveraging Yetuga's aggressive nature, you can dodge its charge and let it crash into a wall, leaving it momentarily vulnerable. This is your chance to attack and potentially shatter the ice spikes on its back, which will weaken its offensive capabilities.

As you press on, parrying all attacks except the grab will conserve your Stamina, allowing you to maintain pressure and eventually trigger Yetuga's second phase. When Yetuga roars and powers up, it's time to create some distance. It will then wield a giant rock to smash at you, which you must dodge or parry at the perfect moment. Additionally, watch out for its frost breath that spawns ice spikes; either move out of the way or parry the attack as it approaches. Seize moments to unleash Potent Attacks, and when Yetuga shows signs of exhaustion, execute a Brutal Attack to deal substantial damage and bring it down swiftly.

How to Beat Yetuga in The First Berserker: Khazan Second Phase

Upon defeating Yetuga, you'll be rewarded with 4,800 Lacrima, along with Frozen Mountain gear items and the Necklace of Resolve, recognizing your victory and perseverance.

This guide provides all the essential strategies needed to conquer Yetuga in *The First Berserker: Khazan*. For additional tips and guidance, feel free to explore more resources on The Escapist.
