Delta Force, previously known as Delta Force: Hawk Ops, is now accepting pre-registrations for iOS and Android devices. This Tencent-developed title, launching late January 2025, marks a significant entry into the modern military shooter market, blending diverse missions and modes with a tactical gameplay focus.
The Delta Force franchise, a cornerstone of FPS gaming predating Call of Duty, is known for its realistic action, advanced gadgets, and authentic weaponry. Tencent's revival features Warfare mode (large-scale combat reminiscent of Battlefield) and Operations mode (extraction-style gameplay). A single-player campaign inspired by the Battle of Mogadishu (and the film Black Hawk Down) is also planned for 2025.
Addressing Cheating Concerns
Despite high anticipation, Delta Force has faced controversy regarding its anti-cheat measures. Tencent's aggressive approach, employing G.T.I. Security and implementing restrictions on certain software and hardware for the PC version, has drawn criticism. While the impact on the mobile version might be less severe, this concern has already deterred some potential players. However, the reduced likelihood of cheating on mobile platforms could still allow Delta Force to meet expectations.
