Deltarune Chapters 3 & 4: Save Transfer & New Character Revealed!
Toby Fox, creator of Undertale and Deltarune, has provided a progress update on Chapters 3 and 4. Console testing is underway, progressing smoothly despite a significant workload. Fox notes fewer bugs but emphasizes much remains to be addressed, including PS5 testing.
A key development is the integration of save file transfer. Players will be able to carry over their saves from the Chapters 1 and 2 demo to the full release of Chapters 3 and 4 on consoles. This feature, recently enabled by newly acquired technology, is eagerly anticipated by Fox himself.
With beta testing showing promise, a 2025 release remains on track, as previously confirmed by Fox.
A Cryptic Minigame and a New Character: Tenna
Fox's humorous updates continue. He shared that a minigame he's working on was described by friends and family as "a cry for help," though they ultimately viewed it positively. This has sparked speculation that the minigame might be intended for Chapter 5, given Fox's previous statement that Chapters 3 and 4 are content-complete.
More significantly, Fox mentioned a friend's nostalgic comment, "I miss Tenna." Tenna, a previously unannounced character first glimpsed during the Spamton Sweepstakes in September 2022, is now confirmed to appear in Chapter 3.
Deltarune, the spiritual successor to Undertale, retains familiar gameplay mechanics while introducing a fresh narrative and characters. Players will once again join Kris, Susie, and Ralsei on a world-saving adventure.
