Disney's Mirrorverse to Shut Down

Disney Mirrorverse, the mobile action RPG featuring a unique blend of Disney and Pixar characters, is shutting down. Developer Kabam announced the End of Service (EOS) date as December 16th, 2024.

The game has already been removed from the Google Play Store, and all in-app purchases are disabled. Players have approximately three months of remaining gameplay before the servers are permanently closed.

A Look Back at Disney Mirrorverse

Launched in June 2022, Disney Mirrorverse offered a compelling premise: action-packed battles featuring reimagined Disney and Pixar heroes. While initially generating excitement, the game's extended beta period and infrequent content updates contributed to player attrition.

The game's challenging shard collection system, requiring significant time investment or in-app purchases to fully develop characters, also proved a deterrent for many. However, the game's character designs and visuals were widely praised.

The Unexpected EOS Announcement

The EOS announcement is particularly surprising, given the recent release of new story content and the addition of Cinderella as a playable character just a week prior. This abrupt closure mirrors Kabam's past actions, including the sudden shutdowns of Transformers: Forged to Fight and a Marvel Contest of Champions spin-off.
