This guide details how to get the Lady Vengeance sailing in Divinity: Original Sin 2 after escaping Fort Joy. The process involves a series of puzzles and interactions.
Quick Links
Getting the Lady Vengeance underway requires unconventional methods; simply using the helm won't work. You must explore the ship, interact with NPCs, and ultimately, access Magister Dallis' cabin.
Investigate Dead Bodies
Begin by searching the bodies of the magisters and ghouls on deck. A dead magister holds a Sodden Diary containing a password. You can also obtain the password by successfully completing a skill check with the northern stateroom door. Additionally, locate a Strange Gem; this is crucial for accessing the Portside Stateroom. A magic mirror nearby allows for respeccing characters.
Access the Portside Stateroom
Use the password from the diary (or skill check) and the Strange Gem to unlock the Portside Stateroom. Interact with Bishop Alexander (west of the cabin) to obtain the gem if you haven't already. The southern stateroom door requires both the gem and the password ("Fortitude"). Inside, you'll find Magister Dallis' cabin, which contains a hidden hatch with ghouls and a Teleportation Prism.
Find the Songbook
In Magister Dallis' cabin, speak with Tarquin and Dallis thoroughly before searching for the Ancient Empire Songbook on a central pedestal. Reading it reveals the song needed to activate the ship. Recruit companions before proceeding, as you won't be able to change your party once the ship sets sail.
Set Sail
Once you have the song, speak to Malady on deck. She'll ask you to sing to the ship. Find the dragon figurine to the west and choose the option to sing the song. The Lady Vengeance will begin moving, but be prepared for a challenging battle with powerful magisters immediately afterward. Ensure your party is well-equipped and has sufficient companions.
