Dragon Quest X is coming to mobile, but so far only in Japan

By NoraMar 04,2025

Dragon Quest X Offline, a single-player version of the popular MMORPG, is launching on iOS and Android in Japan tomorrow! Japanese players can purchase the offline version at a discounted price, enjoying the game's unique real-time combat and other MMORPG features on mobile devices.

This mobile release marks a significant step for Dragon Quest X, which initially launched in 2012 and later received an offline version for consoles and PC in 2022. Interestingly, plans to bring Dragon Quest X to mobile were initially announced back in 2013 by Ubitu.

Unfortunately, there's currently no news regarding a global release of Dragon Quest X Offline for mobile. While the original Dragon Quest X was a Japan-exclusive title, the possibility of an international launch for the offline version remains open. However, fans outside Japan shouldn't hold their breath for an immediate announcement.

This is disappointing news for many fans, including myself, who have fond memories of the series (particularly Sentinels of the Starry Sky). The chance to experience even an alternative version of Dragon Quest X on mobile would be a welcome addition.
