Funcom has officially announced Dune: Awakening will debut as a complete experience on May 20 rather than entering early access. Their March 21 Steam blog revealed crucial details about the game's monetization approach, technical specifications, and long-term content roadmap.

Breaking tradition from subscription-based MMOs like Final Fantasy XIV and World of Warcraft, this multiplayer survival game inspired by Frank Herbert's sci-fi masterpiece will adopt a different approach. Players won't face recurring fees - instead, developers promise continuous free expansions introducing fresh gameplay elements, quality improvements, and additional content.

Funcom highlights their proven live-service expertise, citing Anarchy Online's upcoming 25th anniversary and Conan Exiles' sustained post-launch support as evidence of their commitment to long-term game evolution.

Pre-Order Packages Now Available
