Elden Ring Nightreign features some impressive gear drops that you may want to share with others, even while keeping a copy for yourself. A gear duplication glitch makes sharing this loot simple—as long as the exploit remains active.
I first learned about this technique from PC Gamer, which published a quick guide explaining how the duplication works. It’s surprisingly straightforward: if two players attempt to pick up the same weapon simultaneously, both receive a copy. Now you have the original item and a duplicate—though it’s impossible to tell which is which.
Not only is the process easy, but it’s also repeatable and carries little risk if it fails. If the pickup doesn’t sync properly, you can simply try again. The only real danger is that you’ll need to remain in one spot while coordinating the drop-and-pickup, and in Nightreign, staying still is rarely a good idea. The brief lull between days, or the sheltered area before the Nightlord encounter, offers the safest window to attempt this.
As PC Gamer pointed out, they weren’t the first to discover this trick. Several YouTubers and Reddit users have also posted about the easy duplication method, so this particular exploit is now widely known.
It’s unclear whether FromSoftware will address this glitch. Since its use is fairly niche, it may not be a high priority. Without built-in voice chat, coordinating drops with random players online is impractical, so you can’t just drop your best gear and expect everyone to cooperate.
Even for players using Discord or other communication tools, sharing equipment only makes sense if other characters actually want it. Elden Ring Nightreign provides generous loot drops in my experience, and each character tends to pursue specific weapons. Unless your entire party uses the same build—like three Ironeyes—the benefits may be limited.
The duplication glitch is handy for players looking to duplicate specific weapons such as the Executor, but it’s not an instant-win strategy. Still, for sharing powerful gear with someone who missed out on solid weapons by the final day, it’s a useful trick to keep in your arsenal.
