Ezra Miller, Lynne Ramsay Team Up for Film

By ElijahDec 27,2025

Ezra Miller, star of The Flash, is considering a Hollywood comeback after facing abuse and harassment allegations alongside various controversies since 2020.

All attention shifted to Miller during their appearance at this year’s Cannes Film Festival (reported by Variety). Their presence at the premiere of Lynne Ramsay’s latest film, Die My Love, marked one of their first major public appearances in years, hinting at a potential return to the entertainment industry.

Miller gained recognition through roles like in 2012’s The Perks of Being a Wallflower and later as The Flash in DC films and Credence Barebone in the Fantastic Beasts series. However, their reputation suffered after video emerged of the actor allegedly choking a fan, sparking concerns and leading to a series of scandals in subsequent years.

In 2022, Miller was arrested twice in Hawaii—first for disorderly conduct and harassment in March, followed by a second-degree assault charge weeks later. That August, they faced a felony burglary charge in Vermont. Miller later issued an apology, acknowledging "complex mental health issues" and expressing commitment to recovery.

Their most recent high-profile appearance was at The Flash’s April 2023 premiere. Since then, they’ve stayed out of the spotlight, only resurfacing at Cannes and June’s Filming Italy Sardegna event. There, Miller confirmed "tentative" plans to re-enter film production in an interview with Lo Speciale Giornale.

I’ve been writing a lot because you can do that in solitude, which has been friendly to me.“

One confirmed project is a collaboration with Ramsay—a vampire film they are co-writing.

“I attended Cannes to support my dear friend Lynne Ramsay, one of the greatest filmmakers alive,” Miller stated. “We’re working together again, starting with a film we’re writing. Solitude has allowed me to focus on writing.”

They admitted Cannes felt like a “tough reentry point” but emphasized loyalty to friends. “I believe in standing by those who matter most,” they added.

Not that I don’t hold a lot of remorse and lamentation for a lot of things that I did and for a lot of things that happened in that time, but I’m really, really grateful for the lessons that came with that abyss.“

Miller reflected on their past: “This industry exposes you to people who don’t care about you. I regret my actions but value the lessons learned during those dark times.”

Ramsay confirmed the vampire film will star Miller, though their future acting projects remain uncertain.
