Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global server is closing on December 2nd, 2024. While this may or may not be a surprise, the Japanese version will continue operation.
Two Months Remain
The global server's shutdown is confirmed for December. In-app purchases and Google Play Points exchanges ceased after the September 29th, 2024 maintenance.
Launched in June 2020, the global version concludes its four-year run. Despite impressive visuals, music, and a generous gacha system, the game received mixed player feedback.
Unlike its popular Japanese counterpart, the global version lacked key content updates, notably the Solistia expansion and 6-star unit upgrades – content available in Japan for nearly a year. This absence contributed to player dissatisfaction and ultimately influenced the decision to close the global server.
Player Reactions?
Square Enix has already shuttered several games this year, including Final Fantasy: Brave Exvius and two Dragon Quest mobile titles. The closure of Romancing SaGa Re:universe's global version adds to this list.
This turn-based RPG, based on the classic SaGa series, offers players two months to enjoy its remaining content. If you're curious, download it from the Google Play Store.
