For Final Fantasy VII Rebirth on the PS5, Square Enix has alluded to visual enhancements

The PC version of the game boasts superior visuals and stability compared to its PS5 counterpart, prompting community discussions regarding a much-needed PS5 update. The PS5 version, especially in performance mode, suffers from noticeable blurriness, leaving base console owners with little recourse but to await patches. Game director Naoki Hamaguchi acknowledges the possibility of improvements, stating that enhancements are feasible within the PS5's technical constraints.

"Following the PC version's promotional release, we've received numerous requests for a similar PS5 update. We intend to explore this possibility, working within the performance limitations of the PS5 version."

Fans eagerly anticipate Square Enix's response to these pleas for enhanced console visuals.

While the team is diligently developing the sequel, Hamaguchi requests patience, promising further details at a later date. He highlights 2024 as a successful year for Final Fantasy VII Rebirth, the second game in the trilogy, citing its global recognition and award wins. The third installment presents unique challenges as the developers strive to expand the game's fanbase. Interestingly, Hamaguchi also mentions Grand Theft Auto VI as a noteworthy title this year, expressing his support for the Rockstar Games team and acknowledging the immense pressure they face due to GTA V's phenomenal success.
