Fortnite Hunters ramps up the excitement with a thrilling array of updates to the iconic Battle Royale experience. Featuring a Battle Pass with Japanese mythology-inspired skins, powerful weapons, and unique items, this season delivers endless action. Among the standout additions are the Oni Masks, offering players mystical abilities to dominate the battlefield.

Oni Masks are exclusive to Fortnite Hunters, granting players special powers for both attack and defense. From the mobility-focused Void Oni Mask to the damage-dealing Fire Oni Mask, these items are key to securing a Victory Royale. Here’s everything you need to know about every Oni Mask and how to obtain them.

Updated on January 14, 2025, by Nathan Round: Oni Masks are game-changing items, and while luck plays a role in finding them, two methods guarantee their acquisition. This guide now includes details on purchasing Oni Masks from Daigon and looting them from a reliable location for free, every match.

All Oni Masks & How To Use Them

Void Oni Mask

The Void Oni Mask is a top-tier mobility tool in Fortnite, highly sought after by players. By pressing the Shoot Button, players can throw a Void Tear, then use the Aim Button to teleport to its location while the mask is equipped. The Epic Void Oni Mask offers 15 uses with a 5-second cooldown, while the Mythic version provides 50 uses for extended mobility.

Fire Oni Mask

The Fire Oni Mask is built for offense, allowing players to unleash a guided flame projectile by pressing the Fire Button. This projectile deals 100 damage to any opponent it strikes and can hit multiple enemies if they’re grouped together. The Epic Fire Oni Mask has 8 uses with an 8-second cooldown, while the Mythic variant doubles that with 16 uses.

How To Get Oni Masks in Fortnite

Searching Elemental Chests

The simplest way to obtain Oni Masks is by looting Elemental Chests, which always contain an elemental item, including Boons or Oni Masks. Both the Void and Fire Oni Masks can be found this way, though acquiring a specific one depends on luck. Elemental Chests are scattered across the Fortnite island, with named POIs offering the highest chances of finding them.

Defeating Demon Warriors

Players can also secure Oni Masks by taking down Demon Warriors, located at specific spots marked by Oni Mask icons on the map. While not guaranteed, these enemies may drop either a Void or Fire Oni Mask, depending on their equipped weapon. Defeated Demon Warriors can also yield Typhoon Blades or a Fire or Void Boon.

Searching Chests

Beyond defeating bosses or looting Elemental Chests, Oni Masks can occasionally be found in regular Chests. All Chests have a slim chance of containing Epic Rarity Void or Fire Oni Masks, but this method relies heavily on luck.

Purchase From Daigon

While the above methods involve chance, players can guarantee Oni Masks by purchasing them from Daigon at Masked Meadows using Gold Bars. Both the Void and Fire Oni Masks are available, but players must first complete all stages of Daigon’s Mask Expertise Quests to unlock this option.

Loot From Daigon's Hidden Workshop

For those looking to bypass quests, a guaranteed alternative exists. Head to Daigon’s Hidden Workshop, located beneath the northern building in Masked Meadows. A machine there holds both the Void and Fire Oni Masks, which can be looted like a standard chest, ensuring players get both masks every match.

Defeating Bosses (Mythic Oni Masks Only)

To claim the powerful Mythic Oni Masks, players must defeat specific bosses. The Mythic Void Oni Mask drops from Night Rose at Demon’s Dojo, while the Mythic Fire Oni Mask is obtained by defeating Shogun X at Shogun’s Arena. These Mythic variants function like their Epic counterparts but offer significantly more uses for prolonged battles.
