The iconic Master Chief, star of the Halo franchise and a popular Fortnite skin, recently returned to the item shop after a two-year hiatus, much to the delight of fans. However, a controversy quickly arose concerning a special Matte Black style initially offered only to Xbox Series S|X players.
Initially advertised as permanently available, the sudden announcement of its removal sparked considerable backlash. Some players even threatened legal action, believing the change violated terms and conditions. However, Epic Games swiftly reversed its decision within 24 hours.
The Matte Black style is now available to all Master Chief skin owners who play a single game on an Xbox Series S|X console. This reversal appears to be a wise move, especially given the holiday season and the generally positive atmosphere surrounding Christmas.
