Epic Games has officially unveiled the technical specifications for the enhanced version of Fortnite tailored for the Nintendo Switch 2, confirming that mouse support will be introduced in an upcoming patch.
As expected, this upgraded iteration of the popular battle royale game delivers a smoother and more visually immersive experience. Players can now enjoy a locked 60FPS frame rate alongside improved resolution—reaching 2176x1224 when the Switch 2 is docked, or 1600x900 in handheld mode.
Beyond performance enhancements, the new hardware also enables advanced graphical features. These include extended draw distances for those satisfying long-range eliminations, realistic clothing physics, higher-resolution textures, improved shadow rendering, and enhanced water effects.
One of the most anticipated additions is the inclusion of Replays, a feature previously absent from the original Switch version. This allows players to review their matches and identify exactly who took them down. However, the Save the World campaign mode remains unavailable on Nintendo platforms.
The next major Fortnite update, version 37.00, set to release this Saturday, June 7, will introduce full mouse support. By default, the mouse will replace the right analog stick, with aiming handled via the Joy-Con 2’s optical sensor.
Mouse controls are fully integrated across all key Fortnite modes, including:
- Battle Royale
- Zero Build
- Team Rumble
- Reload
- Reload - Zero Build
- Fortnite OG
- Fortnite OG Zero Build
Additionally, mouse functionality extends into in-game menus for seamless navigation.
