Path of Exile 2's Hidden Golden Idols: A Guide to Act 3's Secret Treasure
Path of Exile 2 boasts numerous quests, but some remain elusive, bypassing the quest log entirely. This is true for the five Golden Idols scattered throughout Act 3. While labeled "Quest Items," they function differently than typical quest items. Unlike standard quest items that advance a quest upon delivery, Golden Idols offer a hefty gold reward upon sale.
Locating the Golden Idols
After completing the initial Act 3 quests and exploring the Vaal ruins beneath the Ziggurat Encampment, a portal will transport you to Utzaal (The Drowned City in the present), the Vaal city at its zenith. Don't get sidetracked by the stunning visuals; your focus should be on finding the Golden Idols.
These valuable items are located in Utzaal and the connected area, Aggorat. Three are hidden within Utzaal itself, while the remaining two reside in Aggorat. They are not dropped by enemies; instead, they're found on the ground or pedestals, often in secluded side rooms.

Cashing In Your Discoveries
Once you've collected a Golden Idol, return to the Ziggurat Encampment and seek out Oswald, located in the northern part of the area. He's the only vendor who will buy these unique items. The gold payout for each Idol is:
- Golden Idol: 500 Gold
- Grand Idol: 1000 Gold
- Glorious Idol: 1500 Gold
- Elegant Idol: 1000 Gold
- Exceptional Idol: 1500 Gold
Collecting all five Idols yields a total of 6000 gold. Since they occupy inventory space and serve solely as valuable trade goods, it's advisable to sell them immediately after discovery to maximize your bag space.
