Leslie Benzies, the renowned former lead game designer behind Rockstar Games' hits like Grand Theft Auto 5 and Red Dead Redemption, is gearing up to launch his much-anticipated new title, MindsEye. The game recently received a fresh showcase during the PlayStation State of Play, offering fans a closer look at what to expect.
The newly released trailer for MindsEye immerses viewers in a high-tech spy thriller that echoes the intensity of Grand Theft Auto. The game features third-person gunplay, cinematic sequences, and exhilarating drive-and-shoot action. You can dive into the experience by watching the cinematic trailer below.
As detailed in an official press release, MindsEye centers on the protagonist Jacob Diaz, who is equipped with a neural implant known as the MindsEye. This implant, however, has disrupted his memory, triggering disjointed flashbacks from his military past. Driven by a need to uncover the truth, Diaz embarks on a mission that pits him against an AI-powered military force determined to thwart his efforts.MindsEye has been on the radar for several years now. Following his departure from Rockstar Games, Benzies established his new studio, Build a Rocket Boy, and collaborated with Hitman developer IO Interactive on this project. Positioned as a AAA action-adventure game, MindsEye is also set to introduce the Everywhere platform, which we've previously likened to a "Big budget Roblox" following our visit to their studio in 2024.
Although the new trailer did not touch on Everywhere, MindsEye itself promises to be a thrilling addition to the action game genre, coming from one of its most influential figures. The game is slated for release in the summer of 2025.
