HBO has unveiled its casting choices for the three lead roles in the upcoming Harry Potter series, with fresh faces taking on the iconic parts of Harry Potter, Hermione Granger, and Ron Weasley.
The HBO original Harry Potter television adaptation has selected Dominic McLaughlin to portray Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger, and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley - marking breakout roles for all three young actors.

Showrunner Francesca Gardiner and director Mark Mylod released a joint statement: "Following an exhaustive international search conducted by casting directors Lucy Bevan and Emily Brockmann, we're thrilled to introduce our new Harry, Hermione, and Ron.
"Watching these three extraordinarily talented performers brings us tremendous excitement, and we're eager for audiences to experience their onscreen chemistry. We extend our deepest gratitude to the thousands of young actors who auditioned - discovering so much promising young talent has been incredibly rewarding."
Warner Bros. and HBO previously announced initial casting decisions for six prominent Hogwarts faculty members in April. The initial roster included acclaimed actor John Lithgow (known for Dexter and Conclave), who had accidentally revealed his casting as Albus Dumbledore earlier this year.

Two unsurprising additions include Nick Frost (beloved for Shaun of the Dead) portraying Rubeus Hagrid and Paapa Essiedu (I May Destroy You) taking on the complex role of Severus Snape. The faculty lineup is completed by Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Luke Thallon as Quirinus Quirrell, and Paul Whitehouse as Argus Filch.
Portraying legendary characters like Dumbledore, Hagrid, and Snape presents a significant challenge for these actors. Lithgow acknowledged this when discussing his role earlier this year: "When I received the offer during Sundance Film Festival, I understood this would become defining work for my later career," he told ScreenRant.
"It wasn't an easy choice, but realizing the creative team's vision convinced me. While I'll likely be celebrating my 87th birthday at the wrap party, I couldn't pass up this magical opportunity."
