HoYoverse is preparing for the release of Honkai: Star Rail Version 3.4, titled "For the Sun is Set to Die," launching on July 2nd. The update will reintroduce several fan-favorite characters alongside substantial gameplay improvements.
Major Narrative Developments Await
Phainon, a respected member of the Chrysos Heirs, finally becomes playable. Players will uncover his journey from warrior to his current role in the Flame-Chase faction through an immersive character arc.
His transformation grants access to new abilities tied to Origination, Calamity, and the Foundation Titans.
Simultaneously in Penacony, players receive a surprise invitation from Old Oti of the Alfalfa Family to participate in "Sweet Dreams and the Holy Grail War." This special tournament sees seven competitors summoning historical Penacony figures as Servants.
The event begins July 11th and features notable participants including Aventurine, Mr. Boothill, and Miss Robin. This marks a crossover between Honkai: Star Rail and Fate/stay night Unlimited Blade Works.
Three heroic spirits will join the competition:
- Saber (5-star Wind-type Destruction)
- Archer (Free Quantum-type Hunt character available from July 11th to Version 3.6's end)
- Lancer
Both Saber and Archer will remain permanently available through dedicated banners alongside their Light Cones after the event concludes. Watch the Version 3.4 preview trailer below for more details.
Additional Updates and Character Reruns
The update's first phase features returning characters Tribbie, Sunday, and Sparkle, while the second phase welcomes back Firefly, Jingliu, and Blade. Several characters including Silver Wolf, Kafka, Jingliu, and Blade will receive gameplay enhancements.
