Tomb Raider's iconic heroine, Lara Croft, is officially joining the thrilling world of Dead by Daylight on July 16th! Behaviour Interactive has confirmed the long-rumored addition, bringing one of gaming's most recognizable faces to the Survivor roster. This follows recent additions like Vecna from Stranger Things and Alan Wake, further solidifying Dead by Daylight's impressive roster of guest characters.
Dead by Daylight players can expect Lara's model to be based on the 2013 Tomb Raider reboot trilogy. While an official trailer is still pending, PC players can get a head start with early access to the public test build on Steam. The developers are calling her "the ultimate survivor," a fitting title given her history of perilous adventures.
Beyond Lara Croft, Behaviour Interactive recently announced several exciting additions to celebrate Dead by Daylight's 8th anniversary: a new 2v8 mode pitting two Killers against eight Survivors; a collaboration with Supermassive Games featuring Frank Stone; and a highly anticipated Castlevania chapter later this year.
The news coincides with renewed interest in the classic Tomb Raider games. Aspyr recently released a remastered collection of the original trilogy, and a PS5 port of Tomb Raider: Legend (though reception has been mixed). Lara Croft's presence continues to expand beyond gaming, with a new animated series, Tomb Raider: The Legend of Lara Croft, starring Hayley Atwell as Lara, slated for release in October 2024.
