InZOI to Ditch Explicit Sex Scenes

The lead developers of the highly anticipated life simulation game, inZOI, recently tackled some burning questions from fans, particularly regarding the inclusion of sexual intercourse. The assistant director's response was notably ambiguous, avoiding direct references to "sex." The gist of the answer suggested that if a male and female ZOI character retreat to bed together, the intention might be to create children, but the visual depiction of this process would be left largely to the player's imagination.

Perhaps that's exactly what's happening, but not at the level everyone expected.

This leaves fans in the dark about whether the game will handle these scenes with the same level of censorship seen in The Sims series or if inZOI will introduce a novel approach to such content.

The developers also addressed the curious case of ZOIs showering in towels instead of using pixelated censorship. They explained that this design choice aligns better with games featuring a more cartoonish aesthetic, whereas in a game striving for realism like inZOI, pixelation can come across as overly sexualized. Moreover, they revealed a technical issue: when a naked ZOI with pixelated censorship stood in front of a mirror, the censorship would fail to appear in the reflection, leading to the towel solution.

Interestingly, much of the ambiguity around these topics can be clarified by looking at the game's ratings. inZOI has been assigned an ESRB rating of T (Teen) and is expected to receive a PEGI 12 rating, mirroring the ratings given to The Sims 4. These ratings provide a clear indication of the game's content boundaries and help set player expectations accordingly.
