Get ready for breakneck speeds and intense competition! Nintendo has announced the arrival of these classic Game Boy Advance racers to its subscription service. This includes the Japan-exclusive F-Zero Climax, making its global debut.

The F-Zero series, a futuristic racing powerhouse launched over three decades ago (1990), boasts a legacy of pushing technological boundaries. Its impact on the gaming world is undeniable, inspiring other racing franchises like SEGA's Daytona USA. Known for its blistering pace and innovative gameplay on SNES and beyond, F-Zero remains a benchmark in retro racing.

Like the beloved Mario Kart series, F-Zero features high-speed races, challenging tracks, and intense rivalries. Players pilot powerful "F-Zero machines," battling for the finish line. The iconic Captain Falcon, a series staple, also features prominently in the Super Smash Bros. franchise.

F-Zero: GP Legend first hit Japan in 2003, followed by a worldwide release in 2004. F-Zero Climax, released in Japan in 2004, has remained region-locked until now, marking a significant event for fans. Its arrival also ends a near two-decade hiatus for the franchise, predating the launch of the Switch's F-Zero 99 last year. In a past interview, F-Zero designer Takaya Imamura cited Mario Kart's popularity as a contributing factor to the series' prolonged dormancy.

This October 2024 update to the Switch Online + Expansion Pack grants subscribers access to both F-Zero Climax and F-Zero: GP Legend. Prepare for thrilling Grand Prix races, engaging story modes, and time trials that will test your skills.
