Uncover the Secrets of "The Axe From the Lake" in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 offers a wealth of optional quests, and "The Axe From the Lake" is definitely worth pursuing. This guide will walk you through completing this rewarding side quest.
Initiating the Quest:
To begin, head to the Tachov tavern and speak with Zdenyek the Mouth. Engage him in conversation, prompting him to share something insightful. He'll reveal details about a legendary axe hidden within the lake, setting your quest in motion.
Locating the Axe:
Before embarking on your search, equip a spade. These are commonly found in graveyards or can be purchased from general traders. Your objective marker will cover a large area; begin at the pier overlooking the water. Follow the path north, noting Henry's comments upon encountering an undamaged tree and a large rock along the way. You'll eventually discover a gravesite near a tree. Excavate the grave to unearth a gemstone silver ring, five marigolds, and—crucially—a broken axe.
Restoring the Axe:
Take the broken axe to Radovan, the blacksmith in Tachov. He'll repair it for you, but this requires a fastening material and a significant sum of 699.5 groschen. Radovan should also sell fastening materials if you lack one. Once repaired, the axe becomes the "Adorned Axe."
Quest Completion:
Return to Zdenyek the Mouth and report your success. The Adorned Axe is yours to keep and use in combat.
