Mackenyu will be voicing Gennojo, a central character in the Feudal-Japan inspired Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Described by Ubisoft as a key figure who aids the protagonist in tracking and eliminating a critical target, Gennojo is set to captivate players with his complex personality.

According to Ubisoft, Gennojo is portrayed as a witty, reckless, and deeply conflicted individual. Driven by guilt, he seeks to dismantle a corrupt system while maintaining a flirtatious and cunning demeanor. With a heart of gold beneath his rough exterior, Gennojo is committed to bringing justice to the oppressed, particularly the poor and elderly.

While details about when players will encounter Gennojo remain under wraps, it is confirmed that he will play a significant role throughout the game’s missions. Mackenyu expressed enthusiasm about Gennojo’s involvement in the Shinobi League, a mysterious faction within the game.
