Sony has confirmed that starting January 2026, PS4 titles will be phased out from PlayStation Plus Essential monthly games and the Game Catalog as the company shifts focus to PS5. However, this change won't affect previously claimed monthly games or currently available Game Catalog titles, which will remain playable until being rotated out in future monthly refreshes.

"We're committed to enhancing PlayStation Plus with new benefits while maintaining core features like online multiplayer, cloud saves, and member discounts," explained Sony. "As we transition fully to PS5, subscribers can expect a growing library of current-gen titles each month."
