Inspired by the phenomenal success of the *Super Mario Bros.* and *Sonic the Hedgehog* movie adaptations, which collectively raked in over $2 billion globally, this concept trailer ignites the imagination. While a true collaboration between Nintendo and Sega's mascots remains unlikely due to their historical rivalry, the idea clearly resonates deeply with fans.
In the meantime, audiences can eagerly anticipate sequels to both beloved franchises: “Super Mario Bros. at the Movies 2” slated for 2026, and “Sonic 4 at the Movies” set for release in 2027.
Separately, December saw the exciting announcement of a partnership between McDonald's, Sega, and Paramount. Initially, Sonic toys landed in the United States following a successful 2022 McDonald's promotion, sparking hopes for a collaboration on the third *Sonic* film.
