While presenting the Best Film award to *Conclave*, Hamill’s trousers began slipping down as he approached the podium, creating an awkward yet oddly humorous moment. The incident didn’t go unnoticed, with none other than Demi Moore giving him a reassuring thumbs-up from the audience.
Appearing on *The Late Show With Stephen Colbert*, Hamill recounted the ordeal in vivid detail. He revealed that his pants had fit snugly during fittings back in California, but after some last-minute alterations before the event, things quickly went south. “He let them out four or five inches!” Hamill joked, explaining how his dresser managed to pin the trousers shut backstage. Unfortunately, as he walked on stage, the safety pin popped — and the pants started to fall.
“They were at my knees by the time I got to the podium,” Hamill admitted, describing how he desperately tried to maintain composure. Looking into the crowd for reassurance, he locked eyes with Demi Moore, who gave him a cheerful thumbs up.
