Get ready for a massive start to Marvel Rivals! Season 1: Eternal Night Falls, launching January 10th at 1 AM PST, boasts double the content of a typical season. This unprecedented expansion is due to the developers' decision to introduce the Fantastic Four as a unified launch, creating a richer, more expansive gameplay experience.
The season will feature three new maps based on iconic New York City locations:
- Sanctum Sanctorum: Launching alongside Season 1, this map sets the stage for the new Doom Match game mode.
- Midtown: This map will be the backdrop for intense Convoy missions, demanding strategic street battles.
- Central Park: Details on this map remain under wraps, with more information promised closer to the mid-season update.
This expanded season also marks the arrival of Mister Fantastic (Duelist) and Invisible Woman (Strategist), the first two members of the Fantastic Four. The Thing and Human Torch are slated to join the roster approximately six to seven weeks later, during the mid-season update.
While the developers haven't detailed the long-term impact of this oversized Season 1 on future content releases, it's currently expected that future seasons will continue to add two new heroes or villains. The absence of Blade, a previously rumored addition, has disappointed some fans, but the possibility of his future inclusion remains.
