Marvel Snap Deck Guide: September 2024 Edition
This month's Marvel Snap meta is surprisingly balanced, but the new season introduces fresh cards and the "Activate" ability, promising significant shifts. While some Young Avengers cards haven't drastically altered the landscape, the Amazing Spider-Man season is already shaking things up. Remember, meta decks are fluid; these are snapshots of current top performers. These guides offer insights, but experimentation is key. Most decks assume a complete card collection.
This guide features five top-tier decks and two more accessible, fun options.
Top Tier Decks:
Kazar and Gilgamesh
Cards: Ant-Man, Nebula, Squirrel Girl, Dazzler, Kate Bishop, Marvel Boy, Caeira, Shanna, Kazar, Blue Marvel, Gilgamesh, Mockingbird
This surprisingly strong deck utilizes low-cost cards buffed by Kazar and Blue Marvel. Marvel Boy provides additional buffs, Gilgamesh thrives in this environment, Kate Bishop offers Dazzler support, and Mockingbird benefits from cost reduction.
Silver Surfer Still Reigns Supreme, Part II
Cards: Nova, Forge, Cassandra Nova, Brood, Silver Surfer, Killmonger, Hope Summers, Nocturne, Sebastian Shaw, Copycat, Absorbing Man, Gwenpool
The enduring Silver Surfer deck receives minor adjustments. Nova/Killmonger provide early boosts, Forge enhances Brood clones, Gwenpool buffs hand cards, Shaw scales with buffs, Hope provides extra energy, Cassandra Nova drains opponent power, and Surfer/Absorbing Man secure victory. Copycat replaces Red Guardian as a versatile tool.
Spectrum and Man-Thing Ongoing Strategy
Cards: Wasp, Ant-Man, Howard the Duck, Armor, US Agent, Lizard, Captain America, Cosmo, Luke Cage, Ms. Marvel, Man-Thing, Spectrum
The Ongoing archetype remains competitive. Spectrum's final-turn buff synergizes with Ongoing abilities. Luke Cage/Man-Thing provide strong protection and synergy, and Cosmo's utility is increasing. This deck's simplicity is a plus.
Discard Dracula Domination
Cards: Blade, Morbius, The Collector, Swarm, Colleen Wing, Moon Knight, Corvus Glaive, Lady Sif, Dracula, Proxima Midnight, MODOK, Apocalypse
A classic Apocalypse-style Discard deck, enhanced by the buffed Moon Knight. Morbius and Dracula are key, aiming for a final-turn Apocalypse/Dracula combo. The Collector provides potential additional points.
The Unstoppable Destroy Deck
Cards: Deadpool, Niko Minoru, X-23, Carnage, Wolverine, Killmonger, Deathlok, Attuma, Nimrod, Knull, Death
The Destroy deck remains potent, with Attuma's buff significantly improving its performance. Focus on destroying Deadpool and Wolverine, utilize X-23's energy generation, and finish with Nimrod or Knull. Arnim Zola's absence reflects the increasing prevalence of counter-measures.
Fun and Accessible Decks:
Darkhawk's Return
Cards: The Hood, Spider-Ham, Korg, Niko Minoru, Cassandra Nova, Moon Knight, Rockslide, Viper, Proxima Midnight, Darkhawk, Blackbolt, Stature
A fun deck built around Darkhawk, featuring Korg/Rockslide card manipulation, disruptive cards like Spider-Ham and Cassandra Nova, and discard effects to reduce Stature's cost.
Budget-Friendly Kazar
Cards: Ant-Man, Elektra, Ice Man, Nightcrawler, Armor, Mister Fantastic, Cosmo, Kazar, Namor, Blue Marvel, Klaw, Onslaught
A more accessible version of the Kazar deck, ideal for newer players. While less consistent than the top-tier variant, it provides valuable experience with the core combo.
The meta is dynamic. The "Activate" ability and Symbiote Spider-Man will significantly impact October's meta. Enjoy the game!
