What's the Buzz?
Metal Slug: Awakening breathes new life into the beloved franchise. Originally hinted at in 2020 as Metal Slug Code: J by TiMi Studios, the game has undergone development and name changes, finally arriving after a Southeast Asian launch in late 2023.
For the uninitiated, Metal Slug is a renowned Japanese run-and-gun series, debuting in 1996 from Nazca Corporation, and later expanding into a multimedia phenomenon. While previous mobile entries like Metal Slug Defense (2014), Metal Slug Attack (2016), and Metal Slug Commander (2020) existed, Awakening promises enhanced features and gameplay.
This new iteration stays true to the series' core mechanics, incorporating updated visuals and innovative gameplay elements. Expect to revisit familiar characters and embark on new adventures. Game modes include a World Adventure, 3-player cooperative Team-up battles, and challenging Roguelike experiences.
