Microsoft Unveils Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Titles

Microsoft has unveiled an exciting lineup for the Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2, announced via Xbox Wire just before the much-anticipated Xbox Developer Direct on January 23. This event will showcase several titles launching directly on Game Pass, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and an intriguing mystery fourth reveal.

The January 2025 Wave 2 begins today, January 21, with the release of Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (available on Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) as a day one title on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill offers a thrilling experience where players can crash repeatedly to master snowy slopes, now with the added fun of cross-platform multiplayer supporting up to eight players.

On January 22, the lineup expands with several new additions. Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, inviting players to enjoy multiplayer co-op flights and collect adorable creatures across stunning landscapes. Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) hits Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, delivering a dynamic 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience with a diverse roster of heroes.

Also on January 22, Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console) launches on Game Pass Standard, offering a unique Japanese-inspired action strategy game set on a mountain plagued by defilement. Players will purify villages during the day and defend against hordes at night. Magical Delicacy (Console), Tchia (Xbox Series X|S), and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also join Game Pass Standard on the same day, alongside Starbound (Cloud and Console), which is available on Game Pass Ultimate and Game Pass Standard.

On January 28, Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass as a day one launch. This fantasy action-adventure from Yellow Brick Games lets players battle towering creatures using magic and weapons. Also launching on January 28 is Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), another day one title for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, featuring action-packed third-person shooting and trap defense gameplay.

January 29 sees the release of Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) across Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard. This emotional journey features breathtaking art and a narrative filled with twists, voiced by Hannah Murray from Game of Thrones and Skins.

As January draws to a close, Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC) launches on January 30 for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, offering unparalleled sniping and tactical combat in occupied France. On January 31, Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) arrives as another day one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, continuing the acclaimed RPG series with a dice-driven sci-fi adventure.

Finally, on February 4, Far Cry New Dawn (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, set in a vibrant post-apocalyptic world 17 years after a nuclear catastrophe.
