The first game drop of the year, dubbed "Spring to Life," is set to launch on March 25. This update promises to enhance the Overworld's biomes, making them more immersive and vibrant. Players can look forward to new variants of familiar mobs such as cows, pigs, and chickens, along with captivating ambient features like the glittering firefly bush, falling leaves, and the whispers of sand, encouraging more exploration.
The second game drop, while unnamed as yet, will introduce a novel block called the Dried Ghast. When rehydrated, this block transforms into a Ghastling—a smaller, baby version of the Ghast. Nurtured with snowballs, the Ghastling evolves into the Happy Ghast, a new mob variant. Players can harness the Happy Ghast to fly, accommodating up to four players at once, offering a unique way to traverse the game world. Mojang highlighted that the Happy Ghast will be particularly beneficial for builders in Survival Mode, likening the experience to being in Creative Mode but within the constraints of Survival.

Players will team up with Steve and movie companions to defend the village from piglin attacks across three mini-games. Completing all challenges during the event will reward players with the exclusive Yearn cape.
Mojang also provided insights into their development philosophy during a visit to their Swedish offices, reaffirming their stance on not developing a Minecraft 2, maintaining the game's non-free-to-play model, and avoiding the use of generative AI in game development.
