How Moonstone Works in Marvel Snap

Moonstone is a 4-cost, 6-power card with a potent ability: “Ongoing: Has the Ongoing effects of your 1, 2, and 3-Cost cards here.” This makes her incredibly versatile and synergistic. She pairs exceptionally well with cards like Ant-Man, Quinjet, Ravonna Renslayer, and Patriot, amplifying their ongoing effects. Furthermore, combining her with Mystique allows for powerful duplication of effects from cards such as Iron Man and Onslaught.

However, Moonstone isn't without weaknesses. Enchantress can completely neutralize her abilities, rendering her ineffective unless countered with Cosmo. Echo is another less common, but potent counter.

Best Day One Moonstone Decks

Moonstone's low-cost synergy makes her a natural fit in several existing strong decks. Two stand out: Patriot and Victoria Hand (featuring Devil Dinosaur).

Here's a strong Patriot deck incorporating Moonstone:

Wasp, Ant-Man, Dazzler, Mister Sinister, Invisible Woman, Mystique, Patriot, Brood, Iron Lad, Moonstone, Blue Marvel, Ultron [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck, excluding Moonstone, features only Series 4 or lower cards. The core strategy revolves around Patriot, Mystique, and Ultron for maximum power generation, with Moonstone amplifying the effect. Ant-Man and Dazzler provide additional support, while Iron Lad offers card draw consistency and Invisible Woman protects key cards.

Another excellent deck is a Victoria Hand/Devil Dinosaur variant:

Quicksilver, Hawkeye, Kate Bishop, Victoria Hand, Mystique, Cosmo, Agent Coulson, Copycat, Moonstone, Wiccan, Devil Dinosaur, Gorr the God Butcher, Alioth [Click here to copy this list from Untapped.]

This deck includes Series 5 cards (Victoria Hand, Wiccan), which are difficult to replace. Copycat can be substituted with a suitable 3-cost card like Red Guardian, Rocket Raccoon, or Groot. The strategy centers on Devil Dinosaur and Mystique, with Victoria Hand boosting the power of supporting cards. Moonstone enhances this effect, requiring careful placement to maximize her synergy with Mystique's duplication. Cosmo provides crucial protection against counters like Enchantress and Rogue.

Is Moonstone Worth Spotlight Cache Keys or Collector’s Tokens?

Absolutely. Moonstone's versatility and synergy with existing and future cards make her a valuable addition to any collection. Her interaction with Mystique opens up numerous strategic possibilities, extending beyond the decks mentioned here. Her impact on the meta is likely to be long-lasting.
