Nintendo Switch's Workout Groove: 'Fitness Boxing' feat. Hatsune Miku

By EthanFeb 12,2025

Farewell, SwitchArcade Readers! This is the final regular SwitchArcade Round-Up for TouchArcade from me. After several years, circumstances necessitate a change of course. This edition features reviews from Mikhail and Shaun, new release summaries, and sales information.

Reviews & Mini-Views

Fitness Boxing feat. HATSUNE MIKU ($49.99)

Following the success of Fitness Boxing Fist of the North Star, Imagineer's collaboration with Hatsune Miku is a clever move. This Joy-Con-only title (no Pro Controller support) blends boxing and rhythm game mechanics for daily workouts and mini-games. It includes a dedicated mode for Miku's songs, alongside the standard tracks. Features include difficulty options, free training, warm-ups, progress tracking, reminders, and unlockable cosmetics. While the music is excellent, the main instructor's voice is jarring and may need to be muted. Best used as a supplement to other fitness routines rather than a sole exercise program. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Magical Delicacy ($24.99)

Magical Delicacy combines Metroidvania exploration with cooking and crafting. The exploration is well-executed, despite some frustrating backtracking. The crafting and inventory management, however, could use improvement, hampered by a slightly cumbersome UI. The game boasts beautiful pixel art, charming music, and customizable UI settings. While the Switch version plays well, some frame pacing issues exist. The game shines on handheld devices. Potential updates could significantly enhance the experience. -Mikhail Madnani

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5

Aero The Acro-Bat 2 ($5.99)

A surprisingly polished sequel to the original Aero The Acro-Bat. This release boasts an improved presentation compared to Ratalaika's usual emulation wrappers, including box and manual scans, achievements, a sprite sheet gallery, a jukebox, and cheats. Only the Super NES version is included (no Mega Drive/Genesis version). A solid platformer, particularly enjoyable for fans of the original. -Shaun

SwitchArcade Score: 3.5/5

Metro Quester | Osaka ($19.99)

A prequel to the original Metro Quester, this expansion-like title features a new dungeon in Osaka, new character classes, and canoe-based water traversal. The turn-based combat, top-down exploration, and strategic gameplay remain core elements. A rewarding experience for fans of the original, and a great entry point for newcomers. -Shaun

SwitchArcade Score: 4/5
