Nintendo's charming alarm clock, Alarmo, is waking up to a wider release! Coming in March 2025, this unique device will be available at major retailers worldwide.
Nintendo's Latest Announcement: More Than Just a Clock
Forget the Switch 2 rumors for a moment (though we understand the excitement!). Nintendo's recent Twitter (X) announcement focuses on Alarmo's expanded retail availability. Starting in March 2025, you'll find Alarmo on shelves at Target, Walmart, GameStop, and other participating retailers globally. No more Nintendo Online membership needed—everyone can join the fun! Get ready to wake up to the sounds of your favorite Nintendo games for $99.99 USD.
While fans celebrate this news, the anticipation for the Switch 2 remains high. Nintendo, however, is keeping mum on that front for now.
Instant Hit: Alarmo Flies Off the Shelves
Alarmo's popularity was evident almost immediately. Just one day after its October 9th, 2024 announcement, sales in Japan were temporarily suspended due to overwhelming demand, shifting to a lottery system for Nintendo Switch Online members. Similarly, New York City saw an immediate sell-out, though retailers there promised updates on restocking.
"We have received a large number of orders for the Nintendo Sound Clock Alarmo, which was released on October 9th, so we are currently suspending sales of the product on the My Nintendo Store. In response to this, we are currently preparing to change the sales method at My Nintendo Store to a lottery sale for Nintendo Switch Online subscribers, so please wait for a while. We apologize for the inconvenience this may cause to our customers. Furthermore, we will continue to produce the products in order to deliver them to as many customers as possible."
Sweet Dreams and Waking Up with Nintendo
Alarmo isn't your average alarm clock. This innovative device features delightful sound effects and visuals from beloved Nintendo games like Super Mario Odyssey, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, and Splatoon 3. Choose from 42 charming scenes (with more to come as free updates, including Animal Crossing: New Horizons!), watch your favorite characters wake up alongside you, and gently encourage you to start your day. The motion sensor allows you to silence the alarm without even touching the clock. Snooze? Think again! A more persistent visitor might appear if you linger too long.
Beyond the fun wake-up calls, Alarmo offers ambient hourly chimes, sleep sounds, and even sleep pattern tracking. For households with pets or other sleepers, the Button Mode is highly recommended. Remember, while a Nintendo Online membership was initially required, this will no longer be the case with the wider release in March 2025.
