At IGN Live, we’re thrilled to unveil the first two chilling yet charming minutes of Crunchyroll’s Nyaight of the Living Cat anime and announce an exciting Dead by Daylight in-game collection collaboration for the series.
The opening two minutes, available below, introduce the characters and a eerie yet oddly endearing world. As the protagonists flee from a shadowy menace, it’s revealed that their pursuers are a swarm of adorable cats.
When one hero stumbles and the feline horde catches up, he’s not devoured or attacked as in a zombie outbreak but instead showered with affectionate kisses. Tragically, these kisses—or even a single touch from the cats—transform him into a cat too.
Details on the Dead by Daylight collaboration remain scarce, but fans won’t wait long to learn about the cuddly horrors joining Behaviour Interactive’s game, with more information coming “soon.”

Nyaight of the Living Cat will premiere in Japan on TV Tokyo and other networks, with Crunchyroll simulcasting the series in the U.S. and beyond starting July 6, 2025.
For those new to the story, Nyaight of the Living Cat originated as a Japanese manga by Hawkman, with art by Mecha-Roots. Set in a world where a mysterious virus turns anyone touched by a cat into a feline, the hero, Kunagi, must resist the temptation to cuddle these adorable creatures to survive.
