Overwatch 2 is making a grand return to China on February 19, just in time for the start of Season 15. Players in China can look forward to earning rewards from Seasons 1 through 9, including exciting Battle Pass rewards and engaging in-game events. Recently, Overwatch 2 announced its much-anticipated return to China, with the full relaunch scheduled for February 19. A technical test from January 8 to 15 gave eager fans a sneak peek at the content they've missed, including Overwatch: Classic and the six heroes introduced since the servers shut down during Season 2.

Following the successful technical test, Overwatch 2 game director Aaron Keller shared exciting news on Xiaohongshu, also known as RedNote. A multi-week celebration titled "Return to China" will feature many of the popular in-game events and rewards missed over the past two years. Chinese players will have the opportunity to earn Battle Pass rewards from Seasons 1 and 2 before the relaunch, and rewards from Seasons 3 through 9 through in-game events after the game becomes available again.

Chinese Mythology – Theme for Overwatch 2 Season 15?

Keller also teased that Overwatch 2 Season 15 will include skin bundles inspired by Chinese mythology. While details are scarce, it's unclear whether these skins will be new or existing, exclusive to China, or part of a broader Chinese mythology theme for Season 15, similar to the Norse mythology-inspired cosmetics in Season 14.

Fans worldwide won't have to wait long for more information, as Overwatch 2 Season 15 is set to kick off on February 18, just before the game's official relaunch in China. With just over a month to go, players can expect to learn more about the upcoming season soon, with a full reveal likely in early February.

In the meantime, players can participate in the second 6v6 test, Min 1, Max 3, from January 21 through February 4, featuring the classic 2-2-2 team composition. The Lunar New Year and the Moth Meta Overwatch: Classic events are also scheduled before Season 15, offering plenty of excitement for players.
