Mark your calendars for August 21 when Peacemaker Season 2 hits Max, following the July 11 release of Superman. This series marks the third entry in the newly established DCU, which began with the Creature Commandos TV series late last year.

James Gunn and co-CEO Peter Safran are steering the DCU away from the much-criticized DC Extended Universe, which included films like Justice League, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, and Man of Steel. However, some beloved elements will carry over, with Peacemaker serving as a bridge between the old and the new.

Peacemaker Season 1 was part of the DCEU, but Season 2 firmly plants itself in the new DCU. Gunn has assured fans that "many strands will remain consistent as far as Peacemaker's story goes," although specifics on what will transition from the DCEU to the DCU remain under wraps. The entire cast of Team Peacemaker is set to return, with John Cena leading the charge alongside Frank Grillo as Rick Flag Sr., Freddie Stroma as Adrian Chase, and Danielle Brooks as Leota Adebayo.
