Exciting news for fans of the Persona series: Persona 5: The Phantom X is gearing up for a global release, and you can now pre-register for the Android version. Previously announced for a June 26th, 2025 launch in Japan, the game will also hit the global stage on the same date. This eagerly awaited title first debuted in China a year ago and has since expanded to Taiwan, South Korea, Macau, and Hong Kong, where it's accessible on Android, iOS, and PC. Now, SEGA and Atlus are bringing it to fans worldwide.
Developed by Black Wing Game Studio with contributions from former Persona 5 developers, Phantom X operates on a free-to-play basis. This means you can dive into the game without upfront costs, but there's a gacha system in place, allowing you to summon various characters to join your party.

In Phantom X, you step into the role of a new protagonist leading a fresh crew of Phantom Thieves. Explore a stylized version of modern-day Tokyo, complete with new palaces and mementos. The game retains the series' beloved turn-based combat and the balance of managing a dual life. Beyond the core gameplay, you'll find light social simulation elements, dungeon crawling, a guild system, and a PvE mode named Velvet Trials. Plus, keep an eye out for some familiar faces from the original Persona 5.
The story begins with the protagonist awakening from a nightmare to a distorted reality. Along your journey, you'll encounter a talking owl named Lefaye and the iconic Velvet Room crew, including the unsettling long-nosed man and his assistants.
