Pokémon Go Rings in 2025 with a Festive New Year's Event!
As 2024 draws to a close, Niantic is celebrating the arrival of 2025 in Pokémon Go with a special New Year's event. This precedes the Fidough Fetch event and the highly anticipated Sprigatito Community Day, and kicks off a busy start to the year. Following these events, the Eggs-pedition Access arrives January 1st, running throughout the month. For $4.99, this unlocks numerous benefits to enhance your Pokémon catching adventures until January 31st, including increased Gift storage and daily limits.
What's in Store for the Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 Event?
The Pokémon Go New Year's 2025 event runs from December 30th, 2024, at 10:00 am to January 1st, 2025, at 8:00 pm. While there are no new Pokémon, Shiny variants, or costumes this year, there's still plenty of festive fun to be had.
Expect increased wild spawns of Jigglypuff (with a ribbon), Hoothoot (in a New Year's outfit), and Wurmple (in a party hat), all with boosted Shiny rates. Event bonuses include 2,025 XP for Excellent Throws and celebratory fireworks.
Raids will feature a snowflake-hatted Pikachu (Tier One), and party-hat-wearing Raticate and Wobbuffet (Tier Three), also with increased Shiny chances. Themed Pokémon will also appear in Field Research tasks and PokéStop Showcases.
